Hi, I’m Allison! I live in Michigan with my husband, Kyle, and French bulldog, Scout. I’m an analyst (digital sales operations) at the Detroit Media Partnership (DMP), a Gannett company in Detroit. I previously worked as a digital support specialist in advertising and as the multimedia editor for Signature Media, a division of the DMP, which is publisher of The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press. In this role, I spent most of my time copy editing and writing for print and the Web, and managing the social media platforms for publications such as StyleLine magazine.
I also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Michigan State University. I worked at The State News throughout college, and interned at The Columbus Dispatch and The Arizona Republic, the latter as part of the Pulliam Journalism Fellowship. I also was honored to be a finalist for the Dow Jones News Fund’s copy editing internship.
In addition to my current gig, I work as a freelance copy editor on a variety of projects, including books and magazines. (Need help with your project? You can contact me at aloerch621(at)gmail(dot)com.)
I love to learn, and I’m currently focusing on Market Motive’s 40-hour PPC training program, basic HTML and social media. In my free time, I enjoy taking pictures, traveling and planning my next adventure, running, skiing with friends and family, discovering new music on Spotify’s blues station, and writing. Find me on instagram (@aluce621) and VSCO.
